In a remarkable achievement, almost 1.2 million tickets have been sold for the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics and Paralympics, organisers announced on Monday. Ice hockey, featuring NHL players for the first time since 2014, topped ticket sales, as the games prepare for the grand opening on Friday.
The biathlon event in Antholz-Anterselva and cross-country skiing in Tesero also reported strong ticket sales, following ice hockey in popularity. Additionally, the new Olympic sport of ski mountaineering in Bormio has already sold out.
Preparations are in full swing to ensure all venues, including the new Santagiulia ice hockey stadium in Milan, are ready in time. The Games hold a promising schedule with enthusiastic attendance expected, showcasing the best in winter sports.
