In a landmark event for India's shooting sports calendar, the country will host the 2027 Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship in Delhi. This prestigious event will feature eight quota places for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, complementing an existing Olympic qualifier in the World Cup, positioning India as a significant player on the global stage.

The confirmation came through a letter from the Asian Shooting Confederation to the National Rifles Association of India (NRAI). Proudly, NRAI President Kalikesh Singh Deo and Secretary General Pawankumar Singh have expressed excitement over this historic opportunity to showcase India's organizational capabilities in major international competitions.

The Asian Championship, alongside the ISSF World Cup scheduled for April 21-30 next year, reflects growing confidence in India's capacities. Over 300 shooters from 20 countries will compete, as local shooters aim to capitalize on the chance to secure maximum Olympic quota places and surpass previous allocations.
