Barcelona Rejoins European Football Clubs Organisation Amid Super League Exit
Barcelona has been readmitted to the European Football Clubs organisation after exiting the European Super League project. They are welcomed back by EFC chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi. The club emphasizes collaboration with European clubs, while Real Madrid remains the only proponent of the Super League prior to their agreement with UEFA.
Barcelona has officially rejoined the European Football Clubs (EFC) organisation following their withdrawal from the contentious European Super League project, the LaLiga club announced. This move was facilitated after Barcelona severed ties with the Super League last week, paving the way for their re-admission to the EFC.
The EFC, a body representing over 800 clubs across Europe, plays a significant role in shaping decisions related to competitions, financial frameworks, and commercial policies. EFC chairman and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi personally oversaw the placement of Barcelona's membership application to the board.
The EFC expressed its delight in welcoming Barcelona back, with intentions to collaborate closely as they reintegrate into the organization. Meanwhile, Real Madrid remains linked to the Super League but has recently resolved its legal disputes with UEFA.
