KIIT University Makes History with FIVB Beach Pro Tour Challenge
The FIVB Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge 2026 concluded at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, with 83 teams from 52 countries participating. Belgium won the Men's Gold, and the USA took the Women's Gold. The event marked KIIT as the first Indian university to host the prestigious tournament.
The FIVB Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge 2026 wrapped up on March 8 at the Dutee Chand Athletic Stadium, KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, marking a thrilling five-day beach volleyball spectacle. The tournament featured 83 teams from 52 countries, hosting over 300 players and officials, and spotlighted top competitors from around the globe.
The high-stakes Women's Gold Medal Match saw the American duo Durish/Koenig clinch victory over Japan's Shiba/Reika with a powerful 2-0 straight-set win, taking the gold medal. In the Men's Gold Medal Match, Belgium's Vercauteren/Van Langendonck triumphed over Czech Republic's Sepka/Dzavoronok, earning their championship title in a riveting contest.
KIIT University made history as the first Indian university to host an event in the FIVB Beach Pro Tour Challenge series, praised for its exceptional sports infrastructure and hospitality. KIIT's founder, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, congratulated participants and organisers, while officials and referees were honored for their efforts in organizing the prestigious event.
