Star Sports has confirmed March 28 as the start date for the 2026 IPL season, a revelation made before the finals of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The tournament schedule will be released in two phases due to state assembly elections in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
