The victory came after Feras Al-Brikan's critical extra-time goal, despite the Saudi Pro League team being reduced to ten men after Zakaria Hawsawi's dismissal in the 68th minute.

Substitute Al-Brikan found the back of the net after connecting with Riyad Mahrez's cross, securing a triumph reminiscent of their city rivals Al-Ittihad's back-to-back wins in 2005. "After the red card, we came together as a team and pushed harder," Mahrez commented on the intense match atmosphere.

The game, attended by almost 59,000 fans at Jeddah's King Abdullah Sports City, witnessed Al-Ahli's determined defense and a series of close saves by Machida's Kosei Tani. Despite Hawsawi's headbutting incident, Al-Ahli's perseverance and strategic plays led them to a historic win.
