New Champions Emerge at TCS World 10K Bengaluru: Record-Breaking Wins
At the TCS World 10K Bengaluru, Rodrigue Kwizera from Burundi and Florence Niyonkuru from Rwanda claimed victories in the men's and women's elite races respectively, both achieving remarkable times. Despite challenging conditions, Indian winners also marked their prowess, with Harmanjot Singh and Sanjivani Jadhav securing top positions in their categories.
New champions were crowned at the prestigious TCS World 10K Bengaluru event as Rodrigue Kwizera from Burundi and Florence Niyonkuru from Rwanda shattered records in the men's and women's elite categories. Thousands of participants flocked to the streets to witness the World Athletics Gold Label race, celebrating athletic excellence.
Kwizera clinched his first title at this event by finishing the race in just 27 minutes and 31 seconds, overcoming a previous record set by Nicholas Kipkorir. Meanwhile, Niyonkuru crossed the line in 30:45, marking a significant achievement in her career. Both athletes exhibited exceptional determination and skill, ensuring their places in the history of the competition.
Among the Indian competitors, Harmanjot Singh and Sanjivani Jadhav delivered stellar performances, taking the crown in the men's and women's categories. Singh narrowly missed breaking the national record, securing his victory by clocking 29:13, while Jadhav continued her winning streak, claiming her fifth title with a time of 35:01. Their triumphs highlighted India's growing prowess in long-distance running.
