BCCI CEO Johri undergoes Gender Sensitisation Counselling

The BCCI CEO Rahul Johri underwent a gender sensitisation counselling session as recommended by lawyer Veena Gowda, one of the independent committee members who probed the sexual harassment allegations against him. The recommendation was not binding on the CEO as the probe committee, comprising Justice Rakesh Sharma, Barkha Singh and Gowda, had cleared him of the charges in a unanimous 3-0 verdict last November.

Gowda, who is also an independent member of the BCCI's Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), had recommended gender sensitivity counselling for Johri. Accordingly, on Tuesday, a company called 'Rainmaker', which also specialises in 'POSH' (Prevention Of Sexual Harassment at workplace) training for corporates, conducted a session for him at the BCCI headquarters.

As part of its 'Worksafe' programme, the company also conducted a session for the 10 women employees of the BCCI, who were apprised of their rights as far as protection against sexual harassment was concerned. The harassment charge against Johri was made in an anonymous social media post which was later deleted.
