Kolkata Knight Riders batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi faced disciplinary action on Monday over his conduct on the field during an IPL match against Lucknow Super Giants. The player was fined 20% of his match fee following an emotional outburst after his dismissal for obstructing the field.
The incident occurred in Match No. 38 as Raghuvanshi aggressively struck the boundary cushion with his bat and threw his helmet into the dugout, actions deemed abusive to cricket equipment, violating Article 2.2 of the IPL's Code of Conduct.
Raghuvanshi acknowledged his breach of the rules and accepted the sanction, which also included accumulating one demerit point. Despite the incident, KKR secured a victory against Lucknow in a Super Over finish on Sunday night.
