A 56-member Indian boxing team is set to compete in the Asian Boxing U15 & U17 Championships 2026 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. With a strong lineup of boys and girls, India aims to showcase promising talent and continue its success in international boxing circles.

The 56-member Indian boxing squad is gearing up for the Asian Boxing U15 & U17 Championships 2026 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, commencing May 1. The event promises a display of the continent's finest young boxing talent, as confirmed by the Boxing Federation of India's recent announcement.

India presents a robust lineup, fielding 13 boys and 13 girls in the U-17 category and 15 each in the U-15 category. Competitors span weight classes from 44-46kg to +80kg for U-17s, and 30-33kg to +70kg for U-15s, each team supported by a contingent of coaches and physiotherapists.

BFI President Ajay Singh emphasized the Championships as crucial for offering young boxers international exposure. He highlighted boxing's ascent as India's leading medal-winning sport in international arenas, attributing it to a strong grassroots program. The event is seen as pivotal in identifying future champions in Indian boxing. (ANI)
