Bowlers Hold the Key to T20 Glory, Says DC Coach Munaf Patel
Delhi Capitals' bowling coach Munaf Patel emphasizes the crucial role of bowlers in T20 cricket, noting that while batsmen can win individual matches, tournaments are often decided by effective bowling. He provides an update on fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who is set to return for the upcoming clash against Rajasthan Royals.
In the high-scoring realm of T20 cricket, Delhi Capitals' bowling coach, Munaf Patel, has stressed the pivotal role that bowlers play in securing tournament victories. Speaking at a pre-match press conference before the clash with Rajasthan Royals, Patel asserted that while batters might secure individual matches, it's the strong performance of bowlers that clinches the title. His comments come in the wake of games witnessing scores exceeding 250 runs, underscoring the necessity for disciplined bowling strategies.
"Batters can win you a game, but if you don't bowl well, you cannot win a tournament. This is something I strongly believe in," Patel emphasized, reiterating a belief that places bowlers at the strategic heart of the team. Adding to his insights, Patel confirmed that Australian pace spearhead Mitchell Starc is available for selection, marking a significant boost for the team's bowling department in their next encounter.
Starc, who has been recuperating from shoulder and elbow injuries since late January, has been named fit for a return. His recovery follows a rigorous cricketing schedule, including a laudable performance in the Ashes and participation in the Big Bash League. The availability of such an integral player is anticipated to fortify the team's bowling lineup, providing crucial support, especially in challenging powerplay overs.
