Record-Breaking Attendance at Women's Six Nations Tournament
Attendance at this year's Women's Six Nations tournament has reached a record high of 194,466 across the first three rounds. This surpasses the previous record and showcases a 136% increase over last year. England leads with an eighth consecutive title, drawing significant crowds at their matches.
Attendance at the Women's Six Nations tournament has smashed previous records, organizers announced on Friday. With 194,466 spectators attending the first three rounds, this year's event has already surpassed the 2024 edition's total attendance of 188,128 after five rounds. This reflects a striking 136% increase from the same period last year.
England, reigning world champions, has led the charge with a decisive 33-12 triumph over Ireland witnessed by 77,120 fans at Allianz Stadium on April 11. A week later, England continued their dominance with an 84-7 victory against Scotland at Murrayfield, attended by a record-setting crowd of 30,498—the highest for a standalone women's sporting event in Scotland.
Organizers attribute this surge to the burgeoning popularity of women's rugby, coupled with heightened ticket sales and viewership. As the competition intensifies, two rounds remain with Italy hosting England, and key clashes await in Scotland and Ireland, culminating in the final fixtures on May 17.
