Indian Quartets Chase World Championships Berths at Relays

The Indian athletics team is poised for a challenging competition at the World Athletics Relays, set to commence on Saturday. Featuring five Indian quartets, the event is crucial as teams aim to secure berths for next year’s World Championships.
Under the leadership of notable sprinter Animesh Kujur, the diverse 21-member team includes eight female athletes. Day one features the mixed 4x100m event, where India contends against formidable opponents like the United States and China. Subsequent races include mixed 4x400m, and gender-specific 4x100m and 4x400m events.
The top six teams in mixed events will automatically qualify for the World Athletics Ultimate Championship, while stakes are high with prize money incentives at play. The event serves as a crucial test for Indian athletes as they vie for global recognition and championship seeding positions.
