Diksha Dagar, an emerging star from India, captivated fans on the MCB Ladies Classic's opening day in Mauritius with a stunning hole-in-one. Her performance secured a tied-fourth place finish with a 4-under 68 at Constance Belle Mare Plage, establishing herself as a strong competitor for her anticipated breakthrough victory this season.
Tvesa Malik, another Indian competitor, maintained consistency with a 2-under 70, landing in tied-20th place despite a setback caused by a double bogey. Meanwhile, Hitaashee Bakshi and Vani Kapoor faced challenges, with Bakshi tied-30th with a 1-under 71 and Kapoor struggling at 78.
France's Agathe Laisne dominated the first day's leaderboard with a commanding 8-under 64, featuring ten birdies. South African golfer Cara Gorlei closely follows with a strong 7-under 65, and Denmark’s Smilla Tarning Soenderby holds third at 6-under 66. As the competitive field heads into the second round, the top 60 players will advance beyond the cut, promising an exhilarating contest in the coming days.
