Teen Sensation Ira Jadhav Tops Inaugural T20 Mumbai Women's League Auction

Ira Jadhav emerged as the top buy at the first T20 Mumbai Women's League auction, with Aakash Tigers acquiring her for Rs 10 lakh. The auction marked a significant step in boosting women's cricket in Mumbai, as franchises invested in a blend of youth and experienced players.

In a landmark moment for women's cricket, teenager Ira Jadhav headlined the inaugural T20 Mumbai Women's League auction. Held in Mumbai, the event saw fierce bidding as Aakash Tigers secured Jadhav for Rs 10 lakh, underscoring the city's commitment to female cricketing talent.

With the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) leading the charge, franchises collectively spent Rs 1.47 crore on 50 players. The auction was an opportunity to scout a perfect mix of youthful promise and seasoned performers, spotlighting young talents like Jadhav.

MCA President Ajinkya Naik lauded the event, calling it a pivotal step toward enhancing women's cricket. Echoing Naik's sentiments, League Governing Council Chairman Rajdip Gupta emphasized that the auction had laid the groundwork for a competitive tournament, promoting the growth of female cricket.
