In a landmark moment for women's cricket, teenager Ira Jadhav headlined the inaugural T20 Mumbai Women's League auction. Held in Mumbai, the event saw fierce bidding as Aakash Tigers secured Jadhav for Rs 10 lakh, underscoring the city's commitment to female cricketing talent.

With the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) leading the charge, franchises collectively spent Rs 1.47 crore on 50 players. The auction was an opportunity to scout a perfect mix of youthful promise and seasoned performers, spotlighting young talents like Jadhav.

MCA President Ajinkya Naik lauded the event, calling it a pivotal step toward enhancing women's cricket. Echoing Naik's sentiments, League Governing Council Chairman Rajdip Gupta emphasized that the auction had laid the groundwork for a competitive tournament, promoting the growth of female cricket.
