Suryakumar Yadav Battles Rough Patch With Mumbai Indians' Support
Suryakumar Yadav is struggling in his cricketing career, despite past successes. Mumbai Indians' head coach, Mahela Jayawardene, supports him, noting his challenges with boundary shots. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah, another key player, misses support from fellow bowlers. Both players strive to overcome their current form issues.
Suryakumar Yadav is facing a challenging phase in his career, with Mumbai Indians' head coach Mahela Jayawardene expressing full support for the senior batter. Despite his exceptional performance in the 2025 season and leading India to a T20 World Cup win, Yadav is currently struggling, with only 183 runs in nine innings.
Jayawardene pointed out that Yadav's well-timed shots often find fielders on the boundary, affecting his performance. The coach remains confident that once Yadav finds his rhythm, his scores will improve. Yadav's determination to work harder is noted, suggesting his current dip is temporary.
In addition, Jayawardene acknowledged that star bowler Jasprit Bumrah isn't receiving adequate support, a factor contributing to the team's performance dips. Bumrah, known for his class, is tasked with controlling run-flow and taking wickets, demanding support from other bowlers to excel.
