In an electrifying semi-final clash, midfielder Alexia Putellas was the hero as Barcelona defeated Bayern Munich 4-2 to progress to the Women's Champions League final. Despite Bayern’s initial defensive strategy, Barcelona's Salma Paralluelo opened the scoring early, setting the tone for a high-stakes encounter.
Linda Dallmann quickly equalized for Bayern, but Putellas restored the lead with a deflected shot in the 22nd minute. Ewa Pajor further extended the advantage, unleashing a powerful header for her ninth tournament goal, before Putellas struck again to seemingly end Bayern's hopes.
Despite late efforts, including a disallowed goal by Pernille Harder due to a VAR decision, Bayern could not change their fate. Barcelona, previously victorious in 2021, 2023, and 2024, will now meet OL Lyonnes in Oslo on May 23 for another shot at the championship title.
