As the U-18 Asia Cup approaches, India's youth hockey teams are set to compete against Australia in a critical four-match series. Scheduled from May 15 to 20, these games serve as a practical review of the players' skills following the national coaching camp, which started on April 19 at SAI Bhopal.
Men's coach Sardar Singh stressed the importance of this preparation opportunity, underlining the need to strengthen the team's fundamentals and basics at all positions. The forthcoming matches are seen as key steps in building the athletes' confidence and readiness for international competition.
Women's coach Rani Rampal echoed his views, stating that playing against Australia's U-18 teams provides a prime chance for Indian players to showcase their talents and prepare for the upcoming Asia Cup in Kakamigahara, Japan, giving them experience at a higher level of competition.
