Mumbai Indians' Playoff Hopes Hinge on Rohit Sharma's Return
Harbhajan Singh believes Mumbai Indians might have been in a better position for IPL playoffs had Rohit Sharma recovered earlier from his injury. Despite MI's struggle, Sharma's return showcased with an impressive 84 in a record chase. Ravi Shastri criticized LSG's inconsistency in both batting and bowling.
Mumbai Indians' former captain Rohit Sharma's late return to the pitch might have cost them a better position in the IPL playoffs, as per Harbhajan Singh. Sharma came back with a compelling 84-run score in a record-breaking chase against Lucknow Super Giants.
Harbhajan reflected on the left opportunities due to Sharma's absence. 'It's crucial to be present on the field,' he remarked, praising Sharma's immediate impact, which included not just setting but building on a foundation for MI's win. The former spinner suggested that an earlier recovery could have tipped the scales in MI's favor during their losing streak.
Meanwhile, Ravi Shastri, ex-India coach, pointed out LSG's issues with consistency, as their bowling and batting units rarely synchronized, leading to six consecutive losses. He urged the team to address their fall in performance during crucial moments of the game.
