Historic debut: Dutch Women Gear Up for ICC T20 World Cup 2026

The Netherlands women's cricket team has unveiled a 15-member roster for their historic first appearance at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026. Notable inclusions are Rosalie Lawrence and Lara Leemhuis, marking the only team changes since the recent Qualifier. With Lawrence as a wicketkeeper-batter and Leemhuis as a bowling allrounder, the squad remains under the leadership of Babette de Leede, aiming to mark a defining chapter in Dutch women's cricket.

This squad is also set to compete in a tri-series against Bangladesh and Scotland as part of their World Cup preparations. The Dutch secured their World Cup spot through robust performances in the Qualifier, symbolizing their rising stature on the global cricket stage.

Head coach Neil MacRae emphasized the squad's balanced mix of youth and experience, each selected based on consistent performances in ICC events. Dutch captain Babette de Leede expressed her enthusiasm for leading the team into this uncharted arena, highlighting the opportunity to compete against the world's top teams and inspire the next generation of Dutch cricketers.

Competing in Group 1, the Netherlands will face formidable opponents including India, Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. The opening match against Bangladesh takes place at Edgbaston on June 14. In preparation, the Dutch squad will participate in a tri-series in Scotland, featuring six round-robin matches spanning from May 28 to June 4.

Set from June 12 to July 5, the 2026 ICC Women's T20 World Cup will unfold in England and Wales, marking the tournament's 10th edition. Twelve teams will participate, playing 33 matches across seven venues. The Dutch squad includes captain Babette de Leede, Caroline de Lange, Frederique Overdijk, Hannah Landheer, Heather Siegers, Iris Zwilling, Isabel van der Woning, Lara Leemhuis, Myrthe van den Raad, Phebe Molkenboer, Robine Rijke, wicketkeeper Rosalie Lawrence, Sanya Khurana, Silver Siegers, and Sterre Kalis.
