India's U-18 Hockey Teams Ready for Australian Challenge
Hockey India announced the 24-member Indian U-18 Men's and Women's squads for an upcoming series against Australia, part of preparations for the Asia Cup in Japan. The squads, led by Ketan Kushwaha and Sweety Kujur, were chosen after a national camp focusing on match fitness and tactical skills.
In a strategic move to prepare for the upcoming U-18 Asia Cup in Japan, Hockey India has declared the squads for the U-18 Men's and Women's teams set to face off against Australia. This vital home series in Bhopal, featuring a four-match lineup, will take place from May 15 to 20.
The selections, following a week-long national coaching camp, highlight both fitness and tactical skills, narrowing the initial group from 42 players to 24 performers. Ketan Kushwaha will command the men's team, while Sweety Kujur takes the helm for the women.
The Australian series is seen as a crucial test for the teams, with coaches Sardar Singh and Rani Rampal expressing confidence in their captains and keen anticipation for the challenges posed by a top-tier opponent like Australia.
