Rahul Dravid's Insights on the Evolution of T20 Batting and the Challenges for Bowlers

Former Indian coach Rahul Dravid discusses how T20 batting has drastically evolved, leaving bowlers needing to catch up. In an exclusive interview with PTI, Rahul Dravid, India's former head coach, highlighted the significant evolution in T20 batting, stressing a need for bowlers to catch up. Speaking from Dublin as the new owner of the ETPL's Dublin franchise, Dravid hailed the prowess of young batters who are changing the dynamics of the game.

Dravid emphasized the increased ability of today's batsmen to hit boundaries in previously unexplored areas, contrasting with Test cricket, where bowlers currently have the upper hand. He acknowledged that while the T20 format heavily favors batters, he foresees a possible shift in balance in the coming years.

Dravid suggested enhancing pitch conditions to offer more support to bowlers, such as adding pace or turn to the wickets, as a measure to level the playing field. He cautioned against over-favoring either batsmen or bowlers, advocating for a balanced approach in cricket's various formats.
