Marc Marquez, the celebrated MotoGP world champion, has successfully undergone double surgery following a recent crash during the French Grand Prix sprint. Initially planned for his shoulder injury, the operation also addressed a fractured foot sustained during the event, as confirmed by Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi.
Speaking to DAZN, Tardozzi expressed that Marquez feels as if a burden has been lifted, marking significant progress in overcoming issues that hampered his performance since the season's beginning. Marquez now focuses solely on recovery, with the team's full support as they await his return.
Despite the setbacks, Marquez showcased his exceptional skill by setting a new lap record at Le Mans. Currently seventh in the riders' standings, he trails leader Marco Bezzecchi by 71 points but remains determined to make a strong comeback.
