Manipur's Sporting Dream: National Sports University Nears Completion
Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh announced that India's only National Sports University is nearing completion. The university, located in Imphal West, will soon house 60 faculty units and accommodate 1,300 students. The project is expected to conclude by year's end, with infrastructure enhancements underway.

Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has revealed that the long-awaited National Sports University in the state is nearing its completion phase. Singh visited the site in Koutruk, Imphal West, to evaluate the ongoing infrastructure development, where he was received by NSU Vice-Chancellor Daljit Singh Chaudhary and university officials.
The Chief Minister held discussions with the officials to assess the construction progress, which will include 60 residential units for faculty. He assured attendees that key issues such as road construction and water supply will be addressed promptly, including the commencement of roadworks next week and the installation of borewells as a temporary water source.
Furthermore, Singh pledged security reinforcements if needed to ensure the uninterrupted progress of the works. He informed the media that the university's intake capacity would be approximately 1,300 students, with the project expected to reach completion by the end of the year.
