Madison Keys Bows Out of Strasbourg Due to Injury
Madison Keys has pulled out of the Strasbourg tournament due to a left thigh injury. The American tennis player, ranked 19th, was set to compete as a titleholder. Her withdrawal aims to manage her health ahead of the French Open in Paris, which begins on May 24.
Madison Keys, a prominent name in American tennis, has withdrawn from the Internationaux de Strasbourg. This decision comes after the 19th-ranked player sustained an injury to her left thigh.
Keys, who secured the Strasbourg title in 2024, intended to compete this week but prioritized her health to prepare for the upcoming French Open, set to commence on May 24 in Paris. "I've decided it's best to withdraw from Strasbourg to get healthy and ready to compete in Roland Garros," Keys announced.
Previously, Keys reached the semifinals of the French Open in 2018 and prematurely retired from the final of the Clarins Trophy on Sunday while leading Diane Parry.
