Jannik Sinner's Unstoppable Streak Ahead of French Open Glory
Jannik Sinner continues his impressive form by securing a 32nd consecutive Masters 1000 win, beating Andrey Rublev to reach the Italian Open semi-finals. The world number one eyes the possibility of equaling Novak Djokovic's record and aims for the French Open title, missing from his collection.
Jannik Sinner's formidable performance has been on full display as he claimed his 32nd straight Masters 1000 victory, defeating Andrey Rublev 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the Italian Open semi-finals. The Italian tennis star now holds the longest winning streak in Masters 1000 events, surpassing even Novak Djokovic's record. This achievement sets the stage for Sinner to potentially become the only other man, alongside Djokovic, to win all nine Masters 1000 events.
Sinner, who is 24 years old and currently the world number one, is gearing up to face former world number one Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals after Medvedev’s hard-fought win over Martin Landaluce. Sinner remains focused on his game, expressing that while records are significant, his primary driver is his personal growth and narrative within the sport. A victory in Rome would complete his Masters 1000 title collection on home ground.
Earlier, Sinner had marked a significant achievement by winning five consecutive Masters 1000 titles, including the Madrid Open. He is now targeting his first French Open win, which could earn him a fifth Grand Slam title. Meanwhile, Medvedev, the 2023 Rome champion, displayed tenacity by overcoming Landaluce in an intense two-hour, 23-minute quarter-final match.
