DDCA Decisions: No free passes for members of Apex Council after ticketing fiasco

The DDCA Apex Council has banned its members from accepting complimentary passes to prevent black market sales, following a recent controversy and ongoing police investigation.

The DDCA Apex Council on Sunday decided that none of its committee members shall accept complimentary passes in the wake of the recent controversy surrounding such tickets being sold in black market.

The Delhi Police is carrying out an investigation into the matter, and a controversial high-salaried employee of DDCA was called in for questioning although the association has not yet taken any action against that person or his assistant.

''It was proposed by president Rohan Jaitley that no member of the Apex Council shall accept complimentary passes as a matter of practice which was accepted by majority of the members,'' DDCA Director and noted lawyer Shyam Sharma stated in a press release issued after the council meeting.

However, the general members of DDCA, who pay an annual fee, will receive two complimentary tickets for Gate No. 17-18, along with buffet lunch.

State teams squad strength will be 16.

Over the past few years, DDCA have earned a notorious reputation for sending 25 players for senior, U-23 or U-19 teams with various influential members allegedly pushing for players of their choice, who otherwise do not merit a chance in the state squad.

While BCCI only pays match fees for just 15 players, the decision to send jumbo squads at association's expenses raised a lot of eyebrows with multiple members questioning selection of certain players.

''It was unanimously decided that the squad size for all teams, across age groups and formats, will be limited to 16 players only,'' the release stated.

''The formation of the CAC and selection of selectors and coaches will be done on priority to allow adequate time for player performance evaluation,'' the release further stated.

Revision of match fee for scorers and umpires.
