Sumit Antil Shines at Indian Open Para Athletics Championship

Paralympic champion Sumit Antil dominated the Men's Javelin Throw F64 event at the Indian Open Para Athletics Championship 2026, securing gold with a remarkable throw of 74.82m. The championship showcased stellar performances by Indian para athletes, highlighting their prowess and readiness for future international contests.

In a spectacular finale at the 8th Indian Open Para Athletics International Championship 2026, Paralympic champion Sumit Antil emerged as a standout performer. Competing in the Men's Javelin Throw F64 category at Bengaluru’s Shree Kanteerava Stadium, Antil, representing Haryana, clinched gold with an impressive throw of 74.82 meters.

Maharashtra's Sandip Sargar secured the silver medal with a 62.88-meter effort, while Rajasthan's Sandeep captured the bronze with a 61.83-meter throw. The event also saw intense competition in the Men's Javelin Throw F46 category, where Haryana's Rinku took home the gold with a best throw of 61.70 meters. Uttar Pradesh's Ajeet Singh and Ravi Kumar earned silver and bronze, respectively.

The championship concluded successfully, underscoring the immense talent and potential of India's para athletes.
