Tennis luminary Serena Williams is making headlines once again as she partners with 19-year-old Canadian talent Victoria Mboko in the doubles draw at the HSBC Championships, hosted at Queen's Club in London. The pair's participation was confirmed in an announcement made on Thursday.

Despite a generational age gap of 25 years, Williams and Mboko are set to grace the grass courts of the historic West Kensington venue between June 8 and 14. Mboko expressed her enthusiasm on social media, calling it an honor to share the court with Williams, whom she regards as one of the greatest athletes of all time.

Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam champion, has been absent from the professional circuit since her 2022 US Open defeat to Ajla Tomljanovic, a period described by Williams as her evolution away from the sport rather than a traditional retirement. Her last Grand Slam victory came in 2017 at the Australian Open during early pregnancy. Since then, she has reached four additional finals but has yet to equal Margaret Court's record of 24 major singles titles.
