Andy Farrell, the renowned Ireland rugby coach, has extended his contract until the conclusion of the 2031 World Cup, as announced by the Irish Rugby Football Union on Friday.

Since taking the reins from Joe Schmidt in 2019, Farrell has propelled the team to victory, clinching two Six Nations championships, including a Grand Slam in 2023. During a temporary hiatus beginning in 2025, he successfully led the British and Irish Lions on their Australian tour.

IRFU Chief Executive Kevin Potts praised Farrell as a world-class coach whose leadership has firmly positioned Ireland among the leading teams globally.
