Former Asian Games champion Rahi Sarnobat delivered a stellar performance, winning the women's 25m pistol event at the National Selection Trials in Dehradun. Sarnobat, with 37 hits, maintained control throughout the competition. Manu Bhaker and Divya TS secured silver and bronze respectively, in a fiercely contested final.
Former Asian Games champion Rahi Sarnobat showcased her exceptional shooting skills to win the women's 25m pistol event at the National Selection Trials 4 in Dehradun. Held at the Trishul Shooting Range of the Maharana Pratap Sports College, Sarnobat emerged victorious with 37 hits, demonstrating remarkable poise throughout the final stage.
Olympian Manu Bhaker finished closely behind, securing the silver medal with 35 hits, while Karnataka's shooting talent Divya TS claimed bronze by recording 29 hits. The competition was intense as Tamil Nadu's Niveditha V Nair secured fourth place with 24 hits, followed by Olympian Rhythm Sangwan with 22 hits. Arshdeep Kaur from Punjab, Maharashtra's Abhidnya Ashok Patil, and MP’s Chinki Yadav rounded out the final rankings.
These trials are pivotal for selection to the Indian team for the upcoming Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, scheduled later this year. Notably, ISSF World Cup gold medallist Esha Singh retains top spot in national rankings despite not participating. As the trials continue, more events and final selections are anticipated with excitement.
