India's U-18 Hockey Triumph: Celebrations and Rewards
India's U-18 men's and women's hockey teams were celebrated for their achievements at the Asia Cup in Japan. The men's team won the championship, while the women's team secured bronze. Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya awarded the teams with monetary rewards and praised their commitment to excellence in sports.
At a special felicitation ceremony held at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Head Office, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya honored the Indian U-18 men and women's hockey teams for their remarkable performances at the recently concluded Asia Cup in Japan.
The Indian U-18 men's team, led by captain Ketan Kushwaha, emerged as champions after an inspiring 4-1 victory against host Japan in the final. In recognition of their achievement, the team received a cheque of Rs 61.5 Lakh from the minister.
Meanwhile, the women's team, captained by Sweety Kujur, earned a bronze medal with a decisive 3-0 win over Korea. They were awarded Rs 21 Lakh as a token of encouragement. Sharing motivational words, Dr. Mandaviya commended both teams for their dedication and emphasized India's ambitions to become a global sports powerhouse.
