Wolverhampton Wanderers have terminated the contract of manager Rob Edwards after the club was relegated from the Premier League this season, the team announced on Thursday.

Appointed last November, Edwards was recruited from Middlesbrough, but his tenure failed to yield the desired results as Wolves concluded the season at the bottom of the table, securing just 20 points.

Executive Chairman Nathan Shi emphasized that the decision, made after a thorough review, was based on the need to bolster the club's future prospects rather than personal shortcomings of Edwards.
