In an effort to enhance performance and safety, Charles Leclerc will switch brake disc suppliers for the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, following his Ferrari teammate Lewis Hamilton's lead. This decision comes on the heels of Leclerc's crash in Monaco and Hamilton's recent runner-up finishes, which placed him second in the championship standings.

Hamilton had previously transitioned from Ferrari's traditional supplier, Brembo, to Carbon Industrie discs during the Japanese Grand Prix—crediting the change as one of several tweaks that improved his car. Speaking at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Hamilton expressed satisfaction with the adjustments, which came after his move from Mercedes last season.

Despite Brembo's long history with Ferrari, Leclerc disclosed that the team is considering different configurations to better match their driving requirements. Former Formula One designer Gary Anderson noted that drivers react differently to brake setups based on their driving styles, with Brembo potentially better suited to Leclerc and CI to Hamilton.
