General manager John Dorsey is never one to talk away from a trade conversation, so it's not a major surprise Cleveland Browns running back Duke Johnson is on the block. In his first offseason with the Browns, Dorsey spun up deals for quarterback Tyrod Taylor and wide receiver Jarvis Landry while unloading every quarterback on the roster he inherited and turning Cleveland into a borderline contender in 2018.

Cleveland.com reported Johnson, 25, was privately frustrated with his role and prefers to move on this offseason. Johnson is predominantly a third-down back. A midseason trade that sent leading rusher Carlos Hyde to Jacksonville appeared to create an opportunity for Johnson, but the second half of the season belonged to rookie Nick Chubb.

Dorsey said last week at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine that Chubb was the starter for the Browns, even after troubled back Kareem Hunt signed a one-year deal with no guarantees. After signing a three-year, $15.6 million contract with the Browns, including $7,757,000 guaranteed, Johnson had 87 total touches, including 47 receptions, in 2018.
