Pistons sign free agent Markieff Morris

Free agent Markieff Morris has agreed to a contract from the Detroit Pistons by signing a bi-annual exception, meaning some or all of $3.6 million. The player was seen between the games of Washington Wizards and Oklahoma City Thunder last season. He played with both power forward and center.

Morris averaged 9.4 points and 4.6 rebounds on 42% shooting and 33.5% from 3 on 3.5 attempts per game. His offensive production has sagged over the past few seasons, but Detroit would likely give him an opportunity to bounce back and rebuild some value.

The Detroit will likely be the first big off the bench and Thon Maker insurance.
