Philip Rivers threw for 310 yards and two touchdowns to lead the visiting Los Angeles Chargers to a 30-10 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon. Rivers completed 24 of 30 passes and connected with Austin Ekeler and Troymaine Pope for touchdowns. Ekeler also ran one in, and Ty Long kicked three field goals for the Chargers (2-2).

Los Angeles running back Melvin Gordon was activated for Sunday's game but didn't get any touches. A Pro Bowler the past two seasons and in the final year of his contract, Gordon sat out the first three regular-season games seeking a new deal before returning to the team Thursday. The win snapped an eight-game losing streak for the Chargers in Miami. The Chargers' last victory at Miami was their double-overtime playoff game on Jan. 2, 1982.

Miami, outscored 133-16 in its first three games, stayed within one score until Long's 45-yard field that gave Los Angeles a 20-10 lead with 1:33 remaining in the third quarter. The field goal capped a 16-play, 77-yard drive that consumed 10:33. Ekeler's 1-yard run with 11:20 remaining in the fourth quarter increased the Chargers' lead to 27-10. Long kicked his third field goal, a 51-yarder, with 7:32 left.

The Chargers led 17-10 at halftime after Rivers' 18-yard touchdown pass to Ekeler with 50 seconds remaining in the second quarter. Ekeler caught Rivers' screen pass near the sideline and managed to stay inbounds as he ran past Miami defenders toward the end zone. Josh Rosen, in his second start at quarterback, completed 17 of 24 passes for 180 yards and one touchdown for Miami (0-4).

Rosen's 34-yard touchdown pass to DeVante Parker in the first quarter gave the Dolphins their first lead of the season, 7-3. Rosen found an open Parker on the right flank for his first touchdown pass with the Dolphins. The lead was short lived, however, as the Chargers moved 75 yards on their next possession, culminated by Rivers' 13-yard touchdown pass to Pope.

Miami tied it on Jason Sanders' 30-yard field goal 3:45 into the second quarter. Sanders missed two long attempts later in the period. His 47-yard attempt with 3:39 remaining sailed wide right and another from 52 yards also went wide right as time expired. Long's 44-yard field goal capped the Chargers' opening drive of the game for a 3-0 lead.
