Scott, a Virginia native who played college basketball at the University of Virginia, went to the Eagles' season opener against the Washington Redskins on Sept. 8 sporting a No. 21 Redskins jersey. On Monday, Scott addressed the incident with reporters. "Looking back on it, I always play devil's advocate with myself," the 6-foot-8 Scott told reporters. "I definitely should have walked away before it got to that point. I'm the professional, got to be the bigger person, walk away. Once you keep going ... he was popping hella s--. He was going off. I don't know, maybe it was the microphone ... once you take it to the next level and you're throwing other slurs in there, now I got to see if you match that energy. That's what happened."

Scott was then asked about Eagles fans, many of whom also cheer on his 76ers. "Those guys don't represent everyone. I'm not stupid, that doesn't represent everyone. I still had a ball. Still had fun. Still took pictures with fans, throwing balls in the parking lot and enjoyed the game," he said.

Scott did not get hurt in the fight, and fans tweeted afterward that Scott took selfies with them. Scott later posted a photo of himself in the stands, with the caption, "Look who made it lol."
