- United States
A rib fracture will sideline Milwaukee Bucks guard Eric Bledsoe for the start of the season, according to multiple reports. Bledsoe was injured during a preseason rout of the Utah Jazz on Wednesday.
He is expected to miss up to three weeks. The Bucks play their season opener on Oct. 24 on the road against the Houston Rockets. Bledsoe is in the first year of a $70 million, four-year extension he signed last season.
The former first-round pick (18th overall in 2010) averaged 15.9 points, 5.5 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 78 games last season, his second in Milwaukee. The Bucks acquired Bledsoe from Phoenix early in the 2017-18 season. Bledsoe played his first three NBA seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers before playing his next four with the Suns. He has career averages of 14.1 points, 4.8 assists and 3.9 rebounds.
