Colorado Avalanche goaltender Philipp Grubauer will sit out the team's next two games due to a lower-body injury, coach Jared Bednar said Thursday. Grubauer, who is considered day-to-day, will miss home games against the Nashville Predators on Thursday and the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.

The 27-year-old aggravated the injury during Colorado's 4-1 setback to the Dallas Stars on Tuesday. He played the entire game and finished with 34 saves. "He tweaked it last game against Dallas, but something's been bugging him for a little bit," Bednar said of Grubauer, who has a 6-3-2 record with a 2.80 goals-against average and .915 save percentage in 11 starts this season.

Pavel Francouz, who owns a 2-2-0 record with a 2.73 goals-against average and .919 save percentage in four games this season, will start Thursday's contest versus Nashville. Adam Werner will serve as the backup for the Avalanche, who have lost five in a row (0-4-1).
