Colin Kaepernick's passes from his November workout in Georgia have not helped him to land an NFL job, but it did help a wide receiver who caught some of those throws. The Washington Redskins signed wide receiver Jordan Veasy to their practice squad after the Cal product had tried to give Kaepernick a boost. Veasy figured the opportunity might be beneficial to him as well.

"It helped," Veasy told the Washington Post. "That's one of the reasons I wanted to be a part of it. Just being a part of the history of it, and I knew it was going to help me." Veasy, 24, caught 63 passes for 797 yards over two seasons at Cal, scoring six of his nine touchdowns in his senior season of 2017. He went undrafted but was with the Indianapolis Colts during the preseason and had multiple stints on the Buffalo Bills' practice squad earlier this season. He visited the Cleveland Browns a little more than a week after the Kaepernick workout but did not sign.

Veasy and Kaepernick first met after taking a class together at Cal, according to the Post. Kaepernick, who has not played in the NFL since 2016 after bringing awareness to social issues, was initially scheduled to work out for representatives of NFL teams at the Atlanta Falcons' practice facility. The workout was eventually moved to a high school field after a disagreement over a waiver.
