US has facilitated the departure of over 2,000 people from Sudan since violence started

The U.S. State Department, in coordination with allies and partners and the U.S. Department of Defense, has facilitated the departure of over 2,000 people from Sudan since violence broke out last month, killing hundreds.

State Department deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel told reporters that Washington has facilitated the departure of at least 1,300 American citizens from Sudan since the start of the fighting on April 15.
