Experimental AI features rolling out to Chrome on Macs and Windows PCs

Google is rolling out new experimental generative AI features to Chrome on Macs and Windows PCs that make it even easier and more efficient to browse.

To begin with, the latest release of Chrome (M121) brings "Tab Organizer" - a new feature that automatically suggests and creates tab groups based on your open tabs. To use this feature, right-click on a tab and select "Organize Similar Tabs" or click the drop-down arrow to the left of your tabs.

With this update, Chrome now lets you personalize your browser even more by quickly generating custom themes based on a subject, mood, visual style and color that you choose. To get started, go to the "Customize Chrome" side panel > Change theme > Create with AI.

In the next Chrome release, Google will introduce another experimental AI-powered feature to help you write with more confidence on the web. To try this feature, right-click a text box or field on any site you visit in Chrome and select "Help me write." Type in a few words and then AI will start the writing process for you.

These features will be available over the next few days, starting in the U.S. To try them out, simply sign into Chrome, select Settings from the three-dot menu and navigate to the "Experimental AI" page.

Notably, the new AI features on Chrome for the web will be disabled for enterprise and educational accounts for now.
