Brazil's Lula slams miner Vale over 2019 Brumadinho disaster

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on Thursday that mining giant Vale "has done nothing to reparate the destruction" caused by the collapse of one of its tailing dams in Brumadinho five years ago.

"Support for victims' families, environmental recovery and, above all, inspection and prevention in mining projects are needed so we do not have new tragedies," Lula said in a post on social media platform X.
