Google is bringing many of its AI-powered editing tools like Magic Editor, Photo Unblur, Magic Eraser and more to all Google Photos users without any subscription.

Starting May 15, the new editing tools will gradually roll out to all devices that meet minimum requirements. In addition, these AI-powered features will now be accessible on more devices, including Pixel tablets.

  • Magic Eraser: uses generative AI to remove photobombers and other distractions with a few taps
  • Photo Unblur: lets you clear up blurry shots
  • Portrait Light: allows you to adjust the position and brightness of light in portraits.

"With the right editing tools, your photos can really shine. Google Photos has several features to help you enhance your pictures without pro-level editing skills, from removing a distraction in the background to unblurring a fuzzy shot. And now we’re bringing those capabilities to even more people," the tech giant wrote in a post on Wednesday.

Magic Editor, an editing tool that uses generative AI to help you easily make complex edits like repositioning your subject or turning the sky from gray to blue, will now be available on all Pixel devices. Google Photos users on Android and iOS will now get 10 Magic Editor saves per month. To go beyond this limit, you'll need a Pixel device or a Premium Google One plan (2TB and above).
