Peru Central Bank Ups Economic Growth Forecast Amid Fiscal Tightening

Peru's central bank has marginally increased its economic growth forecast for 2023 to 3.1% from a previous estimate of 3.0%. Additionally, the monetary authority anticipates that the fiscal deficit will be 2.8% of GDP this year, improving to 1.6% of GDP next year.

Peru's central bank on Friday slightly raised its economic growth forecast for the Andean nation this year to 3.1%, compared to 3.0% previously.

The monetary authority also sees the fiscal deficit at 2.8% of gross domestic product (GDP) this year and at 1.6% of GDP next year.
