Airbus to Establish Final Assembly Line for H125 Helicopters in India

Airbus is planning to establish a final assembly line for H125 helicopters in India. The facility, targeted to be operational by 2026, aims to produce up to 10 helicopters annually initially. Airbus has assessed eight sites in India and expects to finalize a location soon.

European aviation giant Airbus has shortlisted eight sites in India for setting up its final assembly line for H125 helicopters, with a ground-breaking ceremony anticipated later this year.

The facility, which will be the fourth Final Assembly Line (FAL) for the single-engine H125, is expected to initially produce up to 10 helicopters annually, a capacity that could be expanded depending on market demand, Airbus officials revealed.

'India is the market of the future for helicopters... at present, the market is extremely embryonic, it is very small compared to what the potential could be,' Olivier Michalon, Executive Vice President Global Business of Airbus Helicopters, commented.
