Hyundai Partners with Charge Zone to Boost EV Charging Infrastructure

Hyundai Motor India has partnered with Charge Zone to set up DC 60 kW fast chargers at 100 Hyundai dealerships across India. This strategic initiative aims to expand public EV charging infrastructure and promote the adoption of electric mobility in the country.

Hyundai Motor India announced on Wednesday a collaboration with Charge Zone to establish electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Charge Zone will install DC 60 kW fast chargers across 100 Hyundai dealerships in India.

The strategic partnership aims to expand public EV charging infrastructure in the country, providing convenience to EV users for both intercity and intracity travel, Hyundai Motor India said in a statement.

The public charging stations will be strategically located across cities and highways, the company added.

Jae Wan Ryu, Hyundai Motor India Function Head - Corporate Planning, emphasized the importance of enhancing EV charging infrastructure to alleviate range anxiety and encourage electric mobility adoption.

Strategic alliances like this are vital for accelerating electric mobility solutions and achieving India's carbon neutrality goals, Ryu added.

Currently, Hyundai has 19 dealerships equipped with DC 60 kW public EV charging stations.
