German Chancellor Olaf Scholz indicated on Wednesday that everything points towards a forthcoming agreement between the European Union and China concerning their ongoing tariff dispute. He highlighted that Europe and its businesses are gradually becoming more resilient and less dependent on single-source supply chains.

Speaking at an annual summer news conference, Scholz observed, "Many companies have now realized that the lessons from their textbooks—namely, that relying on single sourcing is unwise, and instead, dual or even multiple sourcing for certain products is advisable—are still relevant today."

The Chancellor's comments underscore a strategic shift among European companies, pivoting towards diversified supply chains to strengthen resilience against economic disruptions.
