Huawei's smartphone shipments surged by an impressive 41% year on year in the second quarter of 2024, according to data from research firm Canalys. Meanwhile, Apple Inc saw its market share in China decline by roughly two percentage points.
Overall, China experienced a 10% rise in smartphone shipments during the quarter, Canalys reported. Vivo emerged as the top vendor, capturing a 19% share of the market. Following closely were Oppo with 16%, Honor with 15%, and Huawei also securing a 15% share.
This notable increase highlights Huawei's resilience and competitive edge in the Chinese smartphone market.
